You hold your breath
watching for how long
a raindrop can keep
holding on
then you hear a sound
and turn to see
a curious small bird
watching you from a tree
Walking upon frozen lake today
An eagle emerges
then glides away
A privileged life is one of
grace in an everyday.
Did I vacation:
gaze at Picassos
amaze on Miros
sit upon old benches
sharing sandwiches
with cats only half afraid.

I caught your reflection
I put it in a jar
I placed it in the window
so you can figure out
who you are.

Between shops
of Bright Letters
shouting wares
that may sell
I will slip on a shadow
haunt blunted places
that might ring my bell.

Along the Gap of Dunloe
blackstones observe
your descent
one chestnut horse
lingers on a rise
you toss poetry
against boarded windows
of the ruins.

Each one,
ending with
Kafka’s fade,
lingers days
whispering deepening
peeling half-speed
to the raw
distracted
gaze.

Did you see
New Moon in shadow
long hair
flowing wild behind
swey silence
she breathed stacatto
low tone vibrato
passing by.
