a spider and a ladybug arrived from I don't know where I watch them this morning while balancing on the disk I practice not falling from each day
the spider is black and a bit ugly the ladybug is a ladybug bug of Our Lady so elevated from mere insect status maybe who eats who is my question I leave them to sort it out
two creatures in my window their tiny footprints in slips of sunlight remind me of last night's eclipse how insignificant was my quiet presence camouflaged by midnight standing barefoot outside looking to the sky
my existence altered nothing my breath barely stirred the March night air yet I was there wasn't I one more night creature alive and awed under the moon and stars my thoughts riding waves of night clouds praying to nothing for everything
