oh this list can get so long

lack of desire

lack

of interest

no motivation

incentive or maybe

simple absence of will

you might call in

feign some awful illness

or worse—-your sudden death!

no employer comeback for that one, Joe

but what can you do or say

how do you form a phrase and mumble it

when none of the aforementioned fit

who can you tell without seeming just a fool

if you admit to pondering this simple truth:

you can’t reach the door leading in to work

without feeling the threat of the roses🪶
